Welcome to Term 1, 2019

Welcome to every one of our parent community returning for another year in partnership together. We would also like especially welcome our newest students and families on campus who are joining us for the first time this year. As we journey together, it is especially important to keep the channels of communication open and flowing to ensure the best outcomes for students, teaching staff and especially, our parent community.

At Heritage College, we value good communication. This is evidenced by our commitment to timely and accurate reporting when it comes to each student.  When parents need to be contacted by the school, we will attempt to contact you via email, phone call and/or text message. Likewise, you may need to notify us from time to time about your child, for example, in the case of absence. When it comes to good parent/college communication, there are a number of ways to stay connected with your child’s progress throughout the year. You can also stay up to date with news and events happening within the Heritage College community. Here are just a few ways that you can connect in:

SEQTA

Parents can log in and look at students’ course information, available via SEQTA Engage. A link to SEQTA will be available from the college website to facilitate ease of access shortly.

Website

The Heritage College website is a great source of information for our parent community, both prospective and current parents. It provides information on the following topics:

School Newsletter

The Heritage College newsletter is published to your inbox weekly every Wednesday. It is a regular, reliable, relevant and up-to-date source of information about school events, new processes to be aware of and news happening on campus. If you’ve missed something you can catch up on previous editions by visiting the newsletter archive page on the Heritage College website.

Facebook

The Facebook news feed is another source of helpful information and great news stories about what is happening on campus. Recent news stories include awards and recognition, sporting events and special days. It is recommended for our parent community to follow this feed as this will provide helpful updates and links through to articles.

Following Heritage College is easy – simply ‘like’ and make sure you’re ‘following’ us by visiting our Facebook page. Don’t forget to like, comment and share our content so we continue to appear in your news feed.

Instagram

Our Instagram account is another source of short stories about what is happening on campus. It’s really easy to follow, simply search ‘heritagecollege’ (all one word, all lowercase) from your Instagram account, or follow along here. The official Instagram of Heritage College can be recognised by the Heritage College logo. You can also use Instagram to ‘check in’ at campus events, and share by using the hashtag #lifeatHC (Life at Heritage College) or tag us on your posts on campus. Don’t forget to like our posts!

Serve the community on-campus events

With Open Night coming up in March, we look forward to hosting new and prospective families on campus at Narre Warren South from 6.30-8.30pm. This is an opportunity for new families to explore the campus, ask questions, meet the team and soak up the wonderful spirit of hospitality that our community is well-known for. Having plenty of spirited advocates for our college community can only enhance our visitor’s experience, so why not join in on events, both on campus and off.

We look forward to another great year, helping every student to succeed in partnership with our wonderful parent community.
