Get Ready for School in 2020

What a wonderful year 2019 was!  Whilst families and students enjoy some downtime over the holiday break, college administration staff will be available from Monday 13 January 2020 for any enquiries prior to the school year beginning.

 

Please note the following important information over the holidays to ensure the very best start to your school year in 2020:

 

Registration Day 

Prior to school returning in Term 1, Registration Day is held at the Narre Warren South campus on Tuesday 21 January. From 10am-2pm, administration staff are on campus to assist parents and students in starting the school year well. Parents can finalise details on campus for the coming school year. Parents can meet the staff including college Principals, nominate participation in extra-curricular activities such as music lessons and Home and School Committee. Copies of the 2019 Yearbook and 2020 Calendar are also available to collect. Last-minute items can be purchased from the second-hand uniform shop. 

 

Stationery

Stationery for all year levels is included in school fees this year, with the exception of students in Year 11 and 12 studying VCE and VCAL. For these senior students, please click here for the Stationery List.

For secondary students, JacPlus online textbook subscriptions will be added to your school fees this year and will be available to all students on the first day of term. 

 

Device Ready

Heritage College classroom teaching practice includes delivery and use of technology, preparing students well for the future. In the primary school, devices are supplied by the college, however, at the secondary level, Chromebooks are purchased by the family for each student. 

 

  • Primary students at both Narre Warren South and Officer campus locations will continue to use a combination of both Chromebook and iPads supplied from by the college.
  • Secondary students will require a Chromebook prior to the school year beginning. These can be purchased through our supplier Learning With Technologies here

 

Uniform 

Please note the Uniform to be worn in Terms 1 and 4 is the Summer Academic uniform.

Prep: For the first year of school, Prep students are permitted to wear Sports Uniform. 

All students: The spray jacket has now been officially retired from the Heritage College Uniform line.  Spray jackets can be returned to the Front Office at either campus location for textile recycling.

 

First Day Dates 

Please note the following important dates for school resuming. As differing year levels have a staggered start to the school year, early learning, primary and secondary start dates are as follows:

Early Learning 4 Year Old Program is Friday 31 January 2020.

Early Learning 3 Year Old Program is Tuesday, 4 February 2020.

Years 7 and 12 students is Wednesday, 29 January 2020.

Prep-Year 6 and Years 8-11 is Thursday, 30 January 2020. 

Please note Prep students do not attend school on Wednesdays for all of Term 1.

 

Year 7 Forest Edge Camp Wednesday 29 January 

For the first time ever, the Forest Edge Camp for Year 7’s coincides with the first day of school, so make sure you have everything packed and ready to bring with you! The Camp Booklet includes, amongst other important camp information, a list of items to bring for camp is available from the website on the Year 7 camp page.
