At the Early Learning Centre, the Bush Kinder program provides a multitude of learning possibilities for outdoors children as they connect with nature.
Last week Early Learners at the Narre Warren South centre donned their Muddlark suits and took to exploring the outdoors.
The children visited the reserve next to the college grounds armed with magnifying glasses, clipboards and pencils, ready to explore. The children observed the trees closely with their tools and drew diagrams of what they had found. Others found interesting leaves on the ground and used them for leaf rubbings. They all enjoyed climbing and playing in the trees after their discoveries.
This important part of the program introduces children to taking positive risks and challenges as they gain conceptual understanding and respect for the natural environment.
Children’s participation in Bush Kinder increases confidence, motivation, and social, physical and language skills, as they embrace the wonderful outdoors together.
