With Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) results released today, Heritage College is pleased to announce the highest achieving student as Dux of 2019.
Congratulations to Heritage College Dux 2019, Mr Jake Locop. Mr Locop was the highest achieving student in the cohort with a High Distinction average across all VCE subjects of Biology, English, Mathematical Methods, Chemistry, Psychology and Health/Human Development.
Upon successful completion of his secondary studies, Mr Locop plans to study Medicine next year.
VCE Coordinator, Ms Elyse Talor says, “Jake joined the VCE program in 2018. Averaging High Distinction marks across all subjects as well as earning Dux 2019 is a credit to the hard work he has put in to achieve the results, as well as the strength of the VCE program here at Heritage College”.
Mr Locop said that whilst achievement is important, oftentimes it is the failures along the way that push you to achieve. “If you fail at one thing, don’t dwell on it, move on - you still have lots of opportunities in life”, he said.
In a statement released today, Minister for Education Mr James Merlino said, “Completing VCE is an incredible moment and I congratulate the class of 2019 for reaching this milestone.”
“Thank you to the parents, friends and teachers across the state who provided encouragement and guidance to help this year’s VCE and VCAL students reach this educational milestone.”
