Co-curricular
activities
There are many opportunities to extend student's learning outside the classroom. Heritage College offers your child a number of enrichment experiences through our varied co-curricular activities available both on-campus and off.
Heritage College is committed to a holistic education for every student in our care. Co-curricular activities are vital to extend and support classroom learning and development to achieve positive outcomes and opportunities for every student.
Inter-House Sport
Secondary students compete in inter-house competition and represent four different houses: Jackson (Red), Landy (Green), Elliot (Yellow) and Court (Blue). Winning houses have their names engraved and placed on a shield at the end of the year, hosted at the Narre Warren South campus.
Secondary sport
Sport gets a little more competitive in secondary, where students participate in competitions with other school teams in the local and adjacent areas. Heritage College competes in the Christian Schools Events Network (CSEN) sporting competition for athletics, swimming and cross country running. Selection of students is based on performance throughout the school carnivals where sportsmanship and teamwork are recognised and valued.
The weekly sports program takes place during school hours and involves a variety of team sports. The following are played at secondary level throughout the year (Years 7-12):

ASV Inter-School Competitions
Each year the Adventist Schools in Victoria (ASV) combine for a variety of competitions including Athletics, Cross Country, Soccer, Basketball and Spelling Bee. These events are an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate Excellence in an area they are skilled in while creating relationships and connections with students from a variety of schools. The commonality of the Adventist school assists in creating a culture that spreads right across Victoria.
Student Leadership
Students develop their leadership potential as College Leaders or as members of the Student Representative Council (SRC). To be eligible for Student Leadership, students are encouraged to apply and selected by senior staff to represent the school in an official capacity as ambassadors, hosts and spokespeople. The members of the SRC represent the student body with its members drawn across a number of Year levels within the College.
Student Exchange
Heritage College participates in a student exchange program with AIIU, where students from a Japanese school immerse themselves in everyday Australian English by attending Year 10 classes on-campus. Two groups are hosted at each year: one in Term 1 (Jan to April) and another in Term 3/4 (August to November).
Opportunities to host the exchange students by Heritage College families are welcomed, and can be found in the College newsletter three months leading up to the student’s arrival. Heritage College families provide a strong family connection for each student acting as hosts, providing a rich intercultural experience for all involved.
