Heritage College is a learning and loving community, working together to develop excellent, respectful, resilient, service minded citizens who own their learning and have a flourishing relationship with God.
In 2016, college leadership sought to define statements that guide student behaviour and outcomes. In consultation with parents, students and staff, the college community agreed upon the four core college values as excellence, resilience, respect and service.
The values are embedded throughout language and behaviour on campus, within classroom environments and demonstrated by our dedicated team members. Every student is encouraged to develop and exhibit these core college values.
The college recognises that properly developed values will provide the student with guiding principles during their tenure as a student and in the years beyond graduation.
Excellent Heritage College students always give their best in all they do. “What your hand finds to do, do it with all your might…” Ecclesiastes 9:10
Resilient Heritage College students bounce back in tough times. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13
Respectful Heritage College students think about others before themselves. “Do unto others what you would have them do unto you” Luke 6:31
Service minded Heritage College students, find ways to help others around them. “…serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 5:13
The Christian worldview is a framework that helps the Christian individual interpret the world. It involves the following:
Jesus Christ created an excellent world.
Sin entered the world and required the resilience of humanity.
We respect the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
We are restored to serve others until Jesus comes to make all things new.
At Heritage College, we uphold Excellence by integrating and respecting Aboriginal culture in our curriculum, foster Resilience by empowering Aboriginal students in a supportive environment, and commit to Service by actively engaging with and learning from Aboriginal communities.
