On Thursday 26 November, the Year 6 Class of 2020 held their Celebration Day at the Narre Warren South Campus.
Due to government restrictions, the event was live-streamed. Students arrived and were acknowledged by a guard of honour from Prep to Year 5 students, staff and parents as they walked from the courtyard to the MPC.
With this year's Hollywood theme, the organising committee dressed the MPC with a theatre entrance, red carpet, gold and black decorations, and hundreds of balloons. Mr Eales, Ms Robertson, Mrs Parkinson and Mr Orellana announced the student's entrance as they walked the red carpet and were led to their tables by support staff.
The event included a three-course meal prepared by the catering team and served by Year 6 teachers, aides and admin staff. The teachers presented each student with a certificate of appreciation, a signature owl and a Bible. The Year 6 Captains gave a wonderful speech, students had the opportunity to have official photos taken at the photobooth, and also enjoyed playing team games 'Guess that Baby' and a Heritage College Trivia Kahoot.
To round out an incredible celebration, Pr Lagi spoke of what being famous is really about and who we should be aiming to impress: God! Pr Lagi then prayed over the Year 6 students and their families, before the day was brought to a close.
Thank you the amazing team of organisers and presenters for making the Year 6 Celebration Day such a memorable event: Mr and Mrs Aiono, Mr S, Pr Lagi, Mr Eales, Ms Robertson, Mrs Parkinson, Mr Orellana, Mrs Nuske, Ms Imms, Mrs Watson, Mrs Stadnik, Mr Crawford, Mrs Wawrusak, Mrs Waldrip, and Miss Thomas.
Congratulations to all our Year 6 students. We wish you all the best in your first year of secondary school in 2021.
